Leaving Santa Fe behind for the journey south

On day three of our time in Santa Fe we decide to make one more ride to the south. With soaring temperatures, we will need to be up with the sun and on our way as the afternoons will be in the triple digits. Tonight, we have one last celebration dinner at Geronimo’s restaurant. Santa Fe truly has notable restaurants and it was difficult to choose to one for dinner. The evening before, we had selected restaurant Martin Martin. The food and service was excellent. Notable was the chilled cucumber spring peas soup which had grilled Mexican shrimp, carrot panacotta, pickled golden peaches, mint and curry. This dish was a steal at $13. Everything was great, the soup was remarkable.
Geronimo’s was also wonderful! Chef’s special morels were on the menu as a starter, and the mesquite grilled lobster tails was a hit. We bid goodbye to Santa Fe. I am trying to work in one more night there later in the trip. Still a couple of restaurants we haven’t done. Up early and we are packed and on Nell and slab driving south for Truth or Consequences New Mexico traveling down I-25. Believe it or not, the City changed its name from Hot Springs to Truth or Consequences in honor of the famous TV show.
